Frequently Asked Questions

All of our Rehab1 Therapists come from one of three licensed professional backgrounds: either physiotherapy, chiropractic, or massage therapy. In addition to their professional training, they’re also encouraged to attend regular technical trainings to learn about various subjects.

Rehab1 has a goal outside of working on what hurts and that specific area only. We start by looking at the global picture of how your body is ordered and balanced, how your body moves, and how one issue can lead to problems elsewhere. This helps us look strategically and systematically at identifying the root cause of any pain, dysfunction, or areas holding you back from performance improvements. From this point, we work with specific therapies and movement to create lasting change.

It really comes down to what type of approach you want to remove your symptoms and getting your spine to work well. If you want to start with restoring spinal functioning then a chiropractor may be the best place to start. If you want to concentrate more on the soft tissue approach a physiotherapist would be the best place to start.

Both Physiotherapy and Chiropractic will provide you with a thorough review of your spine problems, a detailed function assessment, exercises to assist your recovery and a treatment plan.

Please wear clothing that is conducive for exercising. Shorts, t-shirt, tank tops and sports bras are sufficient.

Bring any test reports, physician referrals or medical documentation if necessary.

It depends a lot on your individual pain tolerance and experience with being treated. Most clients can feel some discomfort here and there but call it, “the best pain of my life”, because we work at a deep level releasing long-held tension and you’ll feel instantly better after your session. We’ve learned that to create a permanent change in a tissue quickly, at times techniques are required that can be painful. If at any point in time you’re feeling uncomfortable, just let your Rehab1 Therapist know and they can adjust the pressure.
