Concussion rehabilitation often involves a multidisciplinary approach. Treatment plans are individualized and aim to reduce the effects of the client’s current symptoms on daily function. Treatment focuses on the management of symptoms and progresses to promote positive functional outcomes based on established goals and functional requirements of the client. Client education and treatment often involves but is not limited to; energy conservation (pacing and planning), cognitive strategies (memory, attention and concentration), sleep hygiene, relaxation techniques and a detailed plan for returning to cognitive and physical activities.
